nesciuswhat if i only know perl(Net::SNMP)
alleycatyum install perl\*net\*snmp\* ?
nesciusoh! thanks! :D
No Match for argument: perl*net*snmp*
daMaestroyum install perl-Net-SNMP
z00dax_trainyum list *snmp*
alleycatz00dax_train: the idea was to skip the first search :)
nesciuswhile i still think that urpmi is better than any other package system, i must say yum isnt that bad also :)
... net-snmp-perl
z00dax_trainurpmi sux
nesciusno way
it works way better than yum
z00dax_trainWhats wrong with knowing about the paclage tree?
alleycatit is well known that yast2 is the correct tool :)
Mikakuanyone here using LVM can execute "pvs --noheadings" ? I need to see what type of information returns this action.
z00dax_trainHowso ? Just making broad statements like that are hardly going to go down as reasons, besides yum sounds cooler, and there is rum too
nesciusnevermind the flame, and thanks for all those help, centos really rocks
its only commonly known problem with package names not package managers.
like for example perl(Net::Server::Fork)
z00dax_trainSo try a yum provides "foo"
nesciusiam looking in rpm.pbone.net because i was unable to find it through yum
z00dax_trainBad idea
Look in the alternative repos first
nesciusyou know what? urpmi found it :D
..but on another machine :(
z00dax_trainYou are running urpmi on centos?
nesciusperl-Net-Server should it be called.. but i don't have a repo with it
z00dax_train, sadly no
i am trying to let it clean as possible
z00dax_trainWell, wiki.centos.org/Repositories
alleycatnescius: enable the alternate repos and then yum list perl\* should help
nesciusalleycat, i allowed almost everything except contrib
the package seems to be only for rhel4
this could be a problem in future updates
alleycatand the problem with "only for rhel4" is... ?
or maybe you have not found yet that whatever works in rhel works in centos too ?
nesciusalleycat, i dont use repository from rhel, only the centos repos
z00dax_trainIn most cases, thins for rhel work on centos fine.
And of-course the other way around too, but you might create support issues
nesciussurre, but i really dont want to mix these two, even if they should be same
