cnbrkok friends, my asterisk is not registering with my spa400
why do you think is this
it is not sending the register command

jboti guess book is a book called Asterisk: The Future of Telephony which is found at http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=11
IOscannerfound it
Corydon76-homecnbrk: shouldn't that be the other way around?
generally a SIP phone registers to Asterisk, not the other way around
cnbrkspa400 is not a sip phone
it is a fxo gateway
and asterisk has to register with it
not the usual way
Corydon76-homeOh, do you have a register line in the [general] section of sip.conf?
cnbrkyes i do
however when i type sip show registry
nothing shows
it's like asterisk is ignoring the register=> line
Corydon76-homecnbrk: any errors on reload?
cnbrkyeah i can put the whole debug to pastebin
just a second
Corydon76-homecnbrk: ???
voltagexso naxxtor...
naxxtoryes voltagex
asteriskguyhello all
carrarHELO .
voltagexnaxxtor: are you going to explain the situation?
naxxtoryeah sure
we're trying to work out why one of our extensions has got a huge delay on it before it gets connected. we've looked for waits and things that might incurr processing time but can't find anything
voltagexthe delay varies between 2 and 4 seconds. It's not transferring between boxes or anything like that.
mostywhat dialplan command is running during the pause?
voltagexshould be Playback...naxxtor?
naxxtoruhh
voltagexBackground() - we've checked that there's no pause in the actual file
