MrTelephonerhombus whats wrong with the peice of poop?
rhombusI just put the card in, and it works, but I hear a strange rushing noise when two Zap channels are bridged
MrTelephonerushing?
rhombuslike static, only smoother... as though one of the parties is in a noisy room
MrTelephonelike shhhhhhhh
e-Regg4ecnbrk: i'll check my configuration, wait a minute
rhombusyeah
MrTelephoneinteresting
rhombusin fact, it almost sounds like fan noise, but there are no extensions in the riser room
MrTelephonefxs or fxo?
rhombuswell, one is fxs, and the other fxo
MrTelephonesorry i can't even make a guess at to what is wrong
very strange
fxs -> fxo calls are noisy?
rhombusyeah
MrTelephonedid you try a sip -> fxo?
rhombusnot yet
MrTelephonetry installing xlite or something and see what happens
rhombushaven't set up the SIP phones yet
MrTelephonethen you'll know if its a zap bridge problem or a fxo problem
rhombusI also need to try calling a few more land lines
MrTelephonedid you try hooking up a regular phone
hook up a regular phone, clear the dial tone by pressing a digit
and listen to see if there is junk on the line
its possible that the fxo card is amplifying noise thats already on th eline
rhombusokay, that's good advice
