rudholmand he's right
ManxPowerrudholm: I'm using an Adtran TA750 for the POTS connections
rudholmah
ManxPowerrudholm: what about HPEC?
rudholmI'm just using the software EC
tried adjusting it
getting levels and tail right
ManxPowerrudholm: the HPEC is free for analog cards under warrenty
rudholmgot echo down a bit, but not eliminated
ManxPowerfor me the HPEC eliminated ALL echo. Of course it also eliminated ALL AUDIO, but I'm sure they will fix that.
Strom_Mhahahaaha
rudholmhahaha
I haven't experimented with it
perhaps I should
I'm tired of hearing callers
ManxPowerrudholm: you should.
rudholmwhen I call Strom, connection is perfect
ManxPowerI also have a Tellabs EC card or 4 around here.
rudholmbut that's an IAX link direct between Asterisks
ManxPowerI should set up an IAX2 test number on my server, the one that is on satellite
rudholmStrom_M: sometimes I dial into Phil's step switch just to hear it :)
love that fog-horn busy signal :)
Strom_M:)
ManxPowerStrom_M: I don't suppose you know off the top of your head the expected voltages for on hook and off hook top to grnd, ring to grnd and tip to ring?
Strom_Mtip to ring should be 48vDC, IIRC
dunno about ground
rudholmtip and ground are close to the same potential, but not quite
in fact, iirc, there's more potential between ring and ground than there is between tip and ring
I just measured all the voltages on the other day
er, other week, I guess
lemme dig it up
ManxPowerring to tip I get 48VDC, ring to grnd I get -46VDC, and tip to grnd I get 0VDC
rudholmthat sounds reasonable
ManxPowerI want to make sure my test equipment is not out of whack
rudholmwhat kind of equipment?
ManxPowerSage Instruments 930A
Got it off eBay about a month before Katrina. This is the first time I've needed it AND it was not in storage
rudholmok, here's what I found on my analog line
these are all WRT earth
On-Hook: Tip: +0.34 Ring: -51.8 (so my T-R potential is over 52V)
