ManxPowerMahmoud: try reading extensions.conf.sample
MahmoudTHANKIEZ may god bless you
jjshoehow do you pass a variable to a context using a call file?
set?
angryuserKnowWhat: it depends on your lan structure, if you asterisk ox is behind nat you need to route corresponding ports, also open them in firewall on asterisk machine
Mahmoudany way to rn idefisk softphone over a non-standard port?
s/rn/run
there's no good voip protocol
iax looks fine, but no conferencing
[TK]D-FenderMahmoud: Guess it would depend on what you consider "bad".
Mahmoudsip has many features, but uses lots of port
the more calls you make, the more udp ports it opens
[TK]D-FenderMahmoud: Soa few more ports.. big deal. Means simplifying the conent of each and being able to reroute individual channels all ofver the place easier.
Mahmoudmeans, you should increase your port range if you have more clients
and it gets tough with white list firewalls
anyway, i have no way but iax (sip blocked)
is there any way to change the destination port that's being used ty IAX2 clients?
i'm using the one made by asteriskguru, and it doesn't have a way to change it
if you know any better iax2 softphone please tell
wunderkinyou can't do host:port?
Mahmoudhmm lemme try
BSDTechis there a scriptto convert extensions.conf to extensions.ael ?
Mahmoudwunderkin, amazing
wunderkin, you are from heaven, god sent you to help me =P
ManxPowerMahmoud: Of course IAX2 supports conferencing
BSDTechbtw we have zaptel/libpri/asterisk 1.4 on bsd now
MahmoudManxPower, but IDEFISK (made by asteriskguru.org) doesn't have such feature?
BSDTechand the add-ons should be done patching today
MahmoudManxPower, know any better IAX2 softphone?
ManxPowerMahmoud: correct. The specfic softphone you are using does not have conferencing
Mahmoud: All softphones are terrible. I would not waste my time on a softphone
actionMahmoud has no money
Mahmoudhas no money
they are cheaper than hard phones
ManxPowerMahmoud: if you have no money then you should not be in telecom. Telecom costs money.
Mahmoudit's for home use
CrazyTuxManxPower, maybe thats why he wants to get in, to make money? :)
ManxPowerMahmoud: it does not matter how cheap something is if it does not meet your needs.
Mahmoudokay forgive me.. sigh
