mrc3__LanceSnyder, JT, eald_home, yesterday you were helping me to get ekiga/twinkle to talk to asterisk. well, they now work: i had a stun server configured from previous attempts. removing it did the trick!
JTyeah i thought so, it clearly stated the STUN server wasn't working :P
sfboschI have a voice mail question. Anybody game?
mrc3__thanks for the help!
nop45WHEN do I use testfeature (#9)? during a conversation or after "flashing" ?
k-man_jt, fyi, once i fixed the link the compile of zaptel worked
JTok
1.2.x?
k-man_jt, also fyi, apparantly the jitter problem can be because if no 1khz clock.. hence the need for the zaptel dummy driver
jt, 1.4
JTright, and if you want to get real technical, you could compile your kernel with HZ of 1000Hz
haven't heard of sip needing zaptel
sounds strange
why aren't you going 1.2?
jpalmerJT: asterisk depends on zaptel for timing. why they don't just move to POSIX timers.. I don't know.. but thats another question
k-man_jt... dunno
mostysfbosch: don't ask to ask. just ask.
JTjpalmer: zaptel interfaces, IAX trunking, and MeetMe relies on zaptel
k-man_jt, i guess someone has to test 1.4 or it will never proceed.. and i'm not in production so its not hard for me to test
JTjpalmer: nothing else should require zap
oh, i thought you wanted to fix the problems, k-man_ :P
k-man_jt... well.. at least help in the debugging of them
sfboschOkay -- voice mail problem:
Callers do not hear the "unavailable" message.
any idea why?
mostydid you specify the "play unavailable" message option to the voicemail command?
sfboschAs in: exten => 2211,1,Dial(SIP/211,10)
exten => 2211,2,VoiceMail(u211@default)
exten => 2211,3,Hangup
This looks right: exten => 2211,2,VoiceMail(u211@default)
CLI output shows that Asterisk is trying to play something
-- Playing '/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/211/unavail' (language 'en')
but caller hears only a loud click
or scraping sound
mostydoes that file exist? is it readable by asterisk? can you test the sound with a sound playing app?
sfboschthe sound file is unavail.wav, and it is in /var/spool/asterisk/voicemail/default/211
the directory "unavail" does not exist until the first time you call voice mail -- then something is creating it
and the sound was created using VoiceMailMain()
xo8oxhey guys
mostysfbosch: what codec is the call using?
