icarusopenoffice is doin it
wingotYou could force a reinstall of your complete system?
icarus: Umm, openoffice shouldn't "NEED" java anyway
fivrewhy would I want to do that?
wingotfivre: Could fix the problem ...
fivreyeah but I'd have to re-download everything
wingotNot necessarily
Only anything installed before your last /var/pacman/cache clean
fivrearch doesn't reformat the partition it installs to?
wingotNot unless you tell it to
fivreno, I guess not, there's an option to not create a filesystem
still, I don't know how I'd avoid the problem
grteKeeping your /home across installs would be a pain without it.
fivreI'm still going to try to install all the same things
icaruswingot, openoffice requires hsqldb-java, hsqldb-java requires java-gcj-compat, java-gcj-compat conflicts with jre
fivreI keep /home on a separate partition and share it between distros
wingoticarus: Still doesn't change what I said :P
Some over anxious maintainer has pulled java in as a requirement
icaruswell your right, but, it does
openoffice dosnt require jre but a buncha other stuff of mine does
wingoticarus: For example, I have OOo installed and neither jre nor hsqldb-java are installed :)
Or java-gcj-compat for that matter
icarusis it up to date?
wingotYep
icarusarch64?
wingotdid a pacman -Syu about 10 hours ago
LOL!
Therein lies the problem
64 bit is a completely different ball game
archfan74wow x is totaly foobard and all the setting in xorg.conf are correct but i get a no screens foud error
wingotarchfan74: drivers?
don't say ati!
archfan74now i'm trying to decide to iether reinstall x or reinstall the hole os :)
they are there
nvidia
latest
wingotOk
Mine works fine with current nvidia drivers (or the open source nv), on a GeForce 7200
