Fonly sda
sda = hd
chrisrmkoh
louipcF: do you have a memory card in the camera?
Flouipc: yes
louipcF: hmm ok when I connect my camera /dev/sda refers to the camera's memory, and /dev/sda1 refers to the memory card
Fyes but sda in this case is my HD
and not my camera.
louipcoh yeah you'd have to skip that then
nothlitbtw put yourself in the camera and storage groups if you havent ^^, for future proofness
Fi am in the camer agroups
louipcI don't have sata so I'm still /dev/hd*
Fmy user is not in the storage group though
essentially i'm trying to use gtkam
phrikNew Packages Released: aurpkgs: curlpp
Fa frontend for gphoto2.
and in gtkam i can autodetect my camera
which it does fine
but then when I hit "apply" it tells me: could not initialize camera
LSD`man, they're still releasing (and people are still using) cameras that don't operate in mass storage mode?
louipcthe computer will pickup USB device info even if it can't properly interface with it
Fgoogle says its a permissions error
chrisrmkit should still show up in /dev though..
?
louipcit's a driver error if it doesn't show up in /dev
I would think
nothlitF: yeah, storage mabbe
DarkJesusSo there isn't a single arch lilo theme around?
nothlitlilo is graphical lol?
Fnothlit: storage?
DarkJesusGraphical lol?
louipcF: can your camera function as a webcam as well?
Flouipc: no i don't think so.
DarkJesusWhy can't all java apps look like azureus!
nothlitthe group, for usb mass storage devices
DarkJesus: because they're not using SWT
louipcbecause sometimes you have to enable mass storage mode on the camera before connecting it
Fnothlit: i am in that group, yes.
nothlitlouipc: even if not theres still pictbridge and whatnot
hmm what is your camera? its easier to just look up compatability lol
