teksimianhi, can anyone see my question up there? ^
Covenerteksimian: sounds like you should be able to do that -- taking a poll?
knhthumbs: i used RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}
and it works now ;)
Covenerare those tabs?
never saw that in my IRC client
choleragood job knh
thumbsknh: OK.
teksimianCovener; no ;p ... its just acting a little funny I have disallowed indexes in / allowed them in /tek (in the manner described above) and now it indexes /ket as well
CapriSkyeit should be, teksimian
i think...
thumbsgarbage
fajitatry putting junk in your htaccess file. If it's being read, you will get an Internal Server Error when accessing that resource.
thumbsteksimian: ^^
CapriSkyeright, fajita?
fajitaCapriSkye: sorry...
choleraso let me gt this right. to enable cgi scripts, I first need to put them in a dir that allows scripts. I can configure apache2.conf with either the ScriptAlias or I can explicitly use the Options directive. I need to point both to the dir in which the scripts reside. Give the scripts proper perms to be run by the server. So really I'm spending on this time because I need to write 5 or 6 little lines in my conf file to make this work
teksimianIf i have a syntax error in tek/.htaccess its page not found. if i put +indexes in there, it also allows indexes in /ket. but theres no .htaccess in /ket and / with -indexes should apply to /ket
knhthumbs: i donnot know to comment to that wiki page:(
teksimianI dont know why /tek/.htaccess is also applying to /ket
:-/
ltmonHi all, i've been given the task of configuring apache2 ready to be hit hard in the next week serving static content only. I've understood mpm_worker vs prefork and MaxThreads/ThreadsPerChild and all that, but I'm looking for some guidance on questions such as: "How do I work out how many servers is a good number", "How many ThreadsPerChild are too many" etc. etc. Does anyone have a good rule-of-thumb guide or some other link
that might help. Ta.
thumbsknh: come again?
knhthumbs: ah... login is required :)
minskmazhi folks - I had cacert generate my .cert file which was naturally generated from a host file - however when I direct my vh to the cert and key, it continues to register a previous server certificate - what
what's causing this ?
work_dammitcan someone give me some pointers? i'm looking to make it so that when you hit www.mysite.com it actually serves you up the content from www.mysite.com/blah/public/
is there a way to do that with RewriteBase in a .htaccess file?
CapriSkyework_dammit, you're looking for redirect
you dont have to do that in apache
work_dammitCapriSkye: what do i do it in please? i thought i could use apache to basically "remount" my site, so the new root effectively becomes www.mysite.com/myapp/public transparently somehow
CapriSkyewait i was think you have your website hosted somewhere
but you're using apache so i dont think you are
work_dammitoh it's hosted with godaddy shared hosting
but their docs and support is not that helpful
CapriSkyethey're using cpanel?
or do they let you use .htaccess?
work_dammitno i don't think so - that sounds more like the virtual dedicated stuff
yeah .htaccess
