| jMCg | balbir: some channels which are over-ran with myrads of people require you to be registered before you can /join. ##php being one of them, and obviously #python, too. |
| Quickimaster | i did use "--enable-module=alias \" in the ./configure command and still scriptalias (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/mod_alias.html#scriptalias) isn't working if i may believe apache (httpd): Invalid command 'ScriptAlias', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration. what could cause this error? |
| jMCg | Quickimaster: ooookay. what's --enable-module ah. okay. You also enabled CGI? |
| liri | i've created a livecd that runs apache and mysql for some php app, though it seems like because of resources maybe apache doesn't process the php files, whereas if that system were installed on the harddrive everything works fine. |
| Quickimaster | jMCg yes |
| jMCg | Quickimaster: also... why 1.3? |
| Quickimaster | it always worked and i haven't upgraded yet |
| jMCg | 1.3 |
| fajita | 1.3 is the 1998 release of apache. Do you use Windows 98? Slackware 4? Redhat 5? |
| jMCg | *cough8 la la liri: exactly what are the *symptoms* [not your supposed diagnosis ;] |
| action | jMCg never used 1.3 |
| jMCg | never used 1.3 |
| Quickimaster | Invalid command 'ScriptAlias', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration. that is what apache returns |
| liri | back |
| jMCg | Quickimaster: if I see this correctly from my Apache Security book, alias, cgi and actions are all enabled by default. Quickimaster: did you LOAD THEM? liri: 08:50 < jMCg> liri: exactly what are the *symptoms* [not your supposed diagnosis ;] |
| liri | jMCg: heh :) |
| Quickimaster | LoadModule alias_module /usr/lib/apache/mod_alias.so yes they are loaded |
| liri | jMCg: well that directory in /var/www holds an authentication file .htpasswd so in the livecd mode when I access that dir I get the authentication dialog, once I enter the correct details I'm supposed to see the website (php) but instead I see a blank page. |
| ederaam | who can help me?? http://rafb.net/p/VqQmQG85.html |
| liri | jMCg: I have debugged it to a point that I made the index.php / index.html smaller and smaller and when it was small enough as in a several byte (with a kind of hello world html file) it would display it just fine. |
| jMCg | liri: what did the error log say? |
| liri | jMCg: so I figured that it was some sort of resources problem like memory but that just seems a bit odd to me when running on a decent computer (512mb ram p4) jMCg: I think there was no error but let me run the livecd again and make sure that I'm correct. |
| jMCg | ederaam: got that in a language I might understand... also.. this looks very much like Debian, doesn't it? |
| ederaam | how? |
| jMCg | ederaam: this is Debian right? |
| Supaplex | ederaam: what distro is that? |
| ederaam | yeah Debian |
| fajita | Debian is one of the worst offender see "debian config" see "distro layout" see /usr/share/doc/apache*/README.Debian* or http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/Platform/DebianLike |
| Supaplex | could be ubuntu, knoppix, or the 238 other children. ederaam: are you using anything from testing or unstable? |
| jMCg | ederaam: #debian-es is no help? liri: you created the livecd yourself? What fs? SquashFS blah.. |
