Jason__I need help with apxs
thumbsquestion
fajitaIf you have a question, please go ahead and ask it. We have the answers... or a whole lot of sarcasm...
Jason__We are trying to use mutliple c files wirth apxs, and we cant call functions from one c file to another
it says undefined symbol
then the function name that we are trying to compile
call*
apxs -c -i -a -n force mod_doc.c mod_main.c
it compiles fine if we comment out the function call
thumbsnot sure.
red_can apache1.3 and apache2 be run on the same debian box by just starting them listening on different ports?
Or is further trickery required?
thumbsred_: try it and see. It should work.
red_watch this space ...
yep ... no probs
corevettewhat files in synaptic do i need to let apache open my php files??? this is for ubuntu
thumbsdebian php
fajitadebian php is here http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/ScratchPad/DebianPHP
thumbscorevette: ^^
corevettethumbs: firefox tells me i have to open a phtml file...
thumbsthen add .phtml to the list after the AddHandler line.
corevettenow i get this error when i try to run apache2: apache2: Syntax error on line 189 of /etc/apache2/apache2.conf: Could not open configuration file /etc/apache2/httpd.conf: No such file or directory
thumbscorevette: then specify a valid configuration file.
or restore that file from backup, as it was deleted
f00li5hlast night i was playing with directory listings, but i have to have my HEADER.html and my FOOTER.html duplicated in each directory (SetHeader and SetReadme) in that order.
the stuffs from .htaccess are inheriting, but they're looking in the same directory
thumbsof course it is
f00li5h: why are you using htaccess, exactly?
f00li5hthumbs: because i like causing 14 extra file reads per http request, that's why
(actually, because my stuff is going into a managed hosting environment where i can't tamper with sites-available/$my_site)
EvansbeeLo All. I'm curious about how web apps "work". More to the point, what would be the method to implement a complex piece of code that interacts with established protocols (think meebo.com)? Is there a path via an apache module, or would something get written in c and just be called from a php page?
quarkheadOK, i have read and read but i do not get it. im having trouble setting up my network so i can wiew my websites from the local computers browser. on server i have installed dnsmasq and enabled listen-address=127.0.0.1. the hosts file contain: 127.0.0.1 localhost loopback and 5* 192.168.1.102 myweb.servebbs.org myweb. Apache2 contains 5 namebased config files i sites-enabled. ip my the physical net is connected like this: isp<->adsl/router(19
anyone please help out! :(
f00li5hquarkhead: do you have a SiteAlias for localhost on one of your hosts?
Evansbee: those ones are a bit more tricy
Evansbee: they may have a daemon in the background that has AJAX events passed onto it via CGI
to communicate with a streaming type thing, you need to run a process on the server to manage all the connections
EvansbeeGotcha, i'm just uncertain how to get started with a project like that
f00li5hEvansbee: do you know any perl?
quarkhead127.0.0.1 localhost loopback
