pctonyI am in the throws of doing a HowTo
the more I see of others pitfalls, the better I can make it
tibbepctony, I want to forward all requests with / as a prefix to my app server running on port 8765
pctony, http://apache.pastebin.ca/436250
zapalottapctony: actually setting up apache as a reverse proxy (which works fine for OWA). But RPC doesn't really work. I cann access the rpc/ folder using a browser, but not with Outlook
greg_72jMCg: you didn't answer my question: what is the problem with it? I will not read tons of apache documentation, that's not my job
pctonyhttp://wiki.apache.org/httpd/ScratchPad/ProxyForOWA
NeuroticjMCg:hell with it, im gonna try setting up subdir style redirects and deal with the problems as i go
pctonyzapalotta: ok
well, when you access it with a borwser do you get the permission denied result?
zapalottapctony: that's basically what I've done so far (the wiki link), plus adding RPC
tibbepctony: yes
pctonyzapalotta: what have you done to add RPC?
zapalottabut according to my webserver's logs, Outlook doesn't really attempt to connect
pctonyand what version of apache are you on?
jMCggreg_72: the problem is that you're allowing things in the wrong place [in a too broad scope] in order to open up a potential security and performance hole [.htaccess] - while you could secure the server root and do the whole thing in httpd.conf in the right place.
zapalottapctony: ProxyPass for /rpc and ProxyPassReverse for /rpc, and set up RPC on the Exchange (==DC)
pctonytibbe: look at the link from fajita to the wiki, it will explain how to add the needed config
zapalotta: aghh, ok.
fajitaaghh, ok. is Is is_are it a quiet volume channel
zapalottaapache 2.2.3
en detail: 2.2.3-4 on debian etch
pctonyzapalotta: do yo have RequestHeader set Front-End-Https "On" ?
zapalotta: alas, 2.2 is *REALLY* hard to make it work
if not nigh on impossible
BUMBACL0Twell, i guess everybody is having problem with debian etch
zapalottapctony: well, as the host is dedicated, I'm free to use any other version (though I'd love to use what debian provides, 1.3 or 2.2)
tibbepctony: which one, http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/Errors/ClientDeniedByServerConfiguration ?
pctony2.0 is the latest that is easy*ish* to make work
how ever 1.3 is a lot easier
tibbe: Yes
you basically need a <dir> block for your config
or, similar
BUMBACL0Ti should have kept my sarge and didn't do a fresh install of etch
Bozolinhoapache doesnt start, i get the following error:
[crit] (99)Cannot assign requested address: make_sock: could not bind to address 192.168.178.2 port 8090
tibbepctony: but what directory should I add, there's no physically directory since everything is forwarded to the app server
Bozolinhoany ideas?
fajitathinking is *hard*!
zapalottapctony: for which dir?
