pctonyfajita: forget all modules
fajitapctony: I forgot all modules
EvilGuruI am having trouble with mod_rewrite. I have the following rule in a .htaccess file: RewriteRule test.html tester.html Which I expected would 'map' test.html to the file tester.html in the same directory
but I get a 404
pctonyfajita: all mods is <reply>Look'sy here for a guide to enabling *ALL* modules.
fajitaOK, pctony.
pctonyfajita: configallmods is <reply>Look'sy here for a guide to enabling *ALL* modules.
fajitaOK, pctony.
pctonyno fajita: all mods is <reply>Look'sy here for a guide to enabling *ALL* modules. http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/Recipes/ConfigAllMods
no fajita all mods is <reply>Look'sy here for a guide to enabling *ALL* modules. http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/Recipes/ConfigAllMods
EvilGuruWhy is this, as the file does exist
pctonyEvilGuru: look at this -->
garbage
fajitatry putting junk in your htaccess file. If it's being read, you will get an Internal Server Error when accessing that resource.
SimplySethpctony: 'cause I got fedup with 2.2.4 and tried an older version
EvilGurupctony: My .htaccess file is being read, and it does work (and allow over-ride all is set)
pctonySimplySeth: I use ldap and 2.2.4 extensively
EvilGuru: well have you looked at
EvilGuruWould you not agree that the rule should mean that http://localhost/~freddie/test.html should give me the same as http://localhost/~freddie/tester.html ?
pctonyrewrite step one
fajitastep one is to enable RewriteLog and RewriteLogLevel and look in the rewritelog, but only in main config (no rewritelog in .htaccess)
EvilGuruI will have a go
pctonygoo dman
good man, rather
SimplySeth: I am a little bemused as to why you are having such difficulties with LDAP
SimplySethpctony: same mess with 2.2.4
pctony: yah .. me too
pctonyhmm
what happens if you extract the src again, ensuring it is clean
ill go an update your post
SimplySethpctony: same thing .. I just downloaded fresh 2.2.4
EvilGururight it does not seem to be working as apache does not have a clue when it comes to local and absolute paths
mod_rewrite it trying to load: /Library/WebServer/Documents/Users/freddie/Sites/tester.html - while /Library/WebServer/Documents is my apache root and /users/freddie/Sites/tester.html is where it should be looking
pctonyEvilGuru: if you use htaccess they apply *ONLY* to the folder the htaccess is in
megaspazand subdirs...
pctonySimplySeth: have you tried configuring apache with the example on the wiki page?
i.e. ALL mods
SimplySethpctony: ummm no
pctonymegaspaz: yes, good point
fajitaWhere? On top of your head?
