|grmbl||lng: "Options not allowed here". something unclear?|
|lng||grmbl: yes, how to allow it?|
|Rince||the perf-tuning.html I am already reading ;)|
|fajita||AllowOverride tells Apache what things you wish to permit in .htaccess files. See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/core.html#allowoverride|
Is there some <if ...></if> container available to make a configuration dependent on some environment variable?
|tomce||hey, i'm trying to set up an https with mod_ssl - i did everything which i was told, but my browser replys: ssl.mydomain.tld has sent an incorrect or unexpected message. Error Code: -12263|
|noodl||ronino: no, there's no generic flow control in httpd.conf, though some directives support their own. what is it you're trying to achieve?|
tomce: what does apache's error log say?
|ronino||noodl: I want to set a different RewriteBase for development and production servers as the RewriteBase is different there and manually changing it every time is ugly|
|noodl||ronino: You could use IfDefine then, and have each server set it's own -Doption at startup|
ronino: though of course it'd be better to not have to.. why do you need RewriteBase?
|ronino||noodl: It is for mod_rewrite as my projects not reside under the top most localhost directory but under a subdir.|
|noodl||ronino: the reason i ask is, you can only really use IfDefine if you're able to stop and start the server, in which case you'd also be able to edit it's config file, and hence shouldn't need RewriteBase|
|tomce||noodl: unfortunately nothing at all|
|noodl||tomce: make sure you're reading the right log. if apache recieved the request and barfed, there'll always be a message somewhere|
|ronino||noodl: hmm, but on the delevopment server, the RewriteBase is say /foo/bar and on the production server it's /, so I need to set it different for both, don't i?|
|lyy||how do i configure apache to run python cgi scripts?|
|noodl||ronino: you only need to specify RewriteBase if mod_rewrite can't figure out the url prefix itself, such as when using Alias or UserDir|
|ronino||noodl: ah yes, i'm using Aliases on the development server|
|noodl||lyy: same way you get it to run any kind of cgi scripts|
lyy: but cgi's not a good idea with python as starting up the interpreter for every request is dead slow
lyy: and python has a TON of different ways of doing server gateways.. scgi, fcgi, mod_python, wscgi (i might have make that one up), ...
|tomce||noodl: it's just redirected to the root directory instead of /mail/ - and nothing about ssl at all|
|noodl||tomce: could you be a little more specific about what's happening? are their entries for the redirect in the access log?|
|tomce||noodl: so it's written in the sites-avaiable-entry that it should go to /mail/ instead it goes to / and shows up this ssl-error that i've already postet, everythings written in the access.log nothing in the error.log|
|fajita||morning is broken, but we're working on it.|
|action||elteito hugs fajita|
|fajita||Back off, freak.|
|Techdeck||hello, can I somehow use a list of IPs (in a file) to block these IPs from my apache?|
|noodl||you can use RewriteMap for that|
|action||Techdeck pokes noodl|
|fajita||how exactly is you starting the server|
