beg1689its supposed to be forwarding port 8080 from the WAN side to port 80 on my local comp, but it looks like its failing miserably
servertokens 68.228.159.130:80
fajitaConnection to http://68.228.159.130:80/ timed out.
beg1689dont think the port was necessary that time
can someone ping me
servertokens 68.228.159.130
jpegcox.net is known to block incoming ports. you'll have to jump around.
fajitaConnection to http://68.228.159.130/ timed out.
beg1689i was trying but my router wouldnt do it
how do i change the port used in ubuntu
last time i used it it was in httpd.conf
jpegI think it's /etc/apache2/port.conf
you don't need to change apache's port unless your router is seriously stupid
fholmesIf I do <Directory /home/site1> </Directory>, will that affect all of the folders below /home/site1 as well? Such as /home/site1/www?
jpegfholmes: yes.
fholmesSo if I am getting Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden: /usr/local/awstats/wwwroot/cgi-bin/index.html
jpeghuh?
fajitaPlease state the nature of your computing emergency
fholmesThen setting -followsymlinks +symlinksifownermatch in the previous deal should make it work for all folders correct?
sorry, didn't mean to paste all of that there.
jpegwait, are you using rewrites in an .htaccess?
beg1689i know, i should have to, but my router isnt doing what it should, its set to forward port 8080 to port 80 on 192.168.1.2, but it wont
shouldnt*
fholmesno. i actually see something else wrong there as well.
jpegif so, options followsymlinks needs to be on, to use rewrites in an htaccess. otherwise rewrites don't require or know about symlinks.
fholmesbeg1689: Some Linksys routers will not forward port 80 properly. So you might need to change the port. Try 81. It is either in your <virtualhost > directive or in the httpd.conf file.
beg1689yup, linksys
fholmesjpeg: I think maybe that directory is not valid period, but I didn't realize it was looking there until just now. I was going on the first part of the error message. I don't have .htaccess redirecting anything right now that I am aware of though.
beg1689im just trying port 8080
fholmes81 works well also.
beg1689servertokens 68.228.159.130:8080
fajitaConnection to http://68.228.159.130:8080/ timed out.
beg1689bah
fajitahumbug
fholmestry 81. Or 96 or something. Sometimes companies block well know ports as well.
jpegcox could be blocking anything/everything, for all we know. I wouldn't be surprised.
beg1689servertokens 68.228.159.130:8080
fajitaConnection to http://68.228.159.130:8080/ timed out.
beg1689no it worked in fc6
using port 8080
