|tofuwarrior||the folders in question are 777|
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: chmod 777|
|DrBacchus||Ah. fajita went away. I forgot.|
Ok, I'll fill in.
777 is NEVER an appropriate permission on any file or directory. Even in testing.
Anyways, what does the error log say?
|Ruckus||sockmonk: should set the rewritebase? I dont know much at all about mod_rewrite.|
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: what permisisons should I use for testing then?|
|DrBacchus||Files should be readable by the apache user. They should seldom, or never, be writeable by that user.|
tofuwarrior : What, exactly, does the error log say?
|sockmonk||Ruckus: now I'm not sure. the regex itself looks close enough to right, especially if you tried those variations.|
I would turn on the rewrite debug logging and see whether it tells you anything useful.
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: just looking.|
|Ruckus||its just like the [L] part isnt being executed and its going on to the next rule, because the first rule works when the second is removed.|
|sockmonk||you do have those on two separate lines right?|
how do I check if apache is running ?
ps -aux | frep apache ?
grep = frep
|Ruckus||the entire .htaccess file is just 3 lines, RewriteEngine on, + those 2|
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: this looks like it might be something: [Tue Mar 13 19:45:26 2007] [warn] Init: (server50127.uk2net.com:443) You configured HTTP(80) on the standard HTTPS(443) port!|
|catsup||frojnd: sure. if your apache process is named apache.|
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: bear in mind I am a novice|
|frojnd||catsup: it's not :S|
|catsup||frojnd: try httpd|
|frojnd||how else can I check|
command not found
|catsup||fuser -v 80/tcp|
eh, I mean ps aux|grep httpd
|frojnd||25898 0.0 0.1 2800 568 pts/2 R+ 21:24 0:00 grep httpd|
|sockmonk||Ruckus: you might try [last] instead of [L], though it shouldn't matter.|
|tofuwarrior||DrBacchus: when I try to access www.atomixboats.eu which is the virtual server name the error log reads : [error] [client 18.104.22.168] (13)Permission denied: access to /index.htm denied|
|sockmonk||and set a RewriteLogLevel and a RewriteLog line to specify a logfile just for the rewrites|
|DrBacchus||(13) indicates a file permission problem. Run namei -m on the full path to the file|
namei -m /path/to/index.htm
|mechtn||hey guys, i'm using apache2 on my computer @ home and trying to configure multiple sites.. i know it cant be too hard.. i followed some guides and i'm not having any luck|
