DrBacchusHow quickly are the requests being made?
opapoI have the KeepAliveTimeout set to 60 and the MaxRequestsPerChild set to 4000 in the <IfModule prefork.c>

MinSpareServers 5
MaxSpareServers 20
ServerLimit 256
MaxClients 256
MaxRequestsPerChild 4000
</IfModule>
and
<IfModule worker.c>
StartServers 2
MaxClients 150
MinSpareThreads 25
MaxSpareThreads 75
megaspazpastebin!
opapoThreadsPerChild 25
MaxRequestsPerChild 0
</IfModule>
sorry
fajitapastebin is like nopaste, only different or http://apache.pastebin.ca/ or http://rafb.net/paste/
You will be!!
DrBacchusSo ... is it worker or prefork?
opapoI have both sets of code in the httpd file.
DrBacchusSetting KeepAliveTimeout to 60 is a great way to push your server load throught the roof.
opapoI don't know how to tell what is available to be used.
DrBacchusopapo: You're running either prefork or worker. Not both. It is important that you know which one.
opapoDrBacchus: how do I tell which one I am using?
DrBacchushttpd -l
opapoprefork.c
DrBacchusOk. Now we have a notion of how your server is configured, but not what you're doing, or why you need to enable persistent connections.
Note that it is up to the CLIENT, not the SERVER, whether persistent connections are used.
opapoI will pastebin my situation.
fajitahttpd -l is httpd -l (small L) will show you what modules were compiled into apache, but only compiled-in; others can be loaded with LoadModule or httpd -L (capital L) will show you a list of available configuration directives provided by the currently compiled in module set (shown by httpd -l
..(small L))
opapofajita: I still get prefork as the answer to the question
fajitaopapo: Dunno.
phantom_hi all
I found thin in my error.log just after a 500 Internal error:
Syntax error in type map, no ':' in /var/www/html/docs/php/ref.var.html for header <!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.01 transitional//en">\n, referer: http://bugs.unl.edu.ar/docs/php/
