ChrisalysRoobarb-Work: I guess not, how do I browse with ssl? use https?
Roobarb-WorkChrisalys: yes
DrBacchusOk, then I'd recommend that you enable the RewriteLog and tell us what it says. I don't see any reason why that wouldn't match all requests.
mark123hi, i have a weird problem with apache. if left for 5mins, i load a page (either a full site or just phpinfo(); die();) and it pauses for 2 seconds before showing it. if i then refresh its lightning fast and stays that way until i don't refresh for 5-10mins. the box has basically no load and over 2gb of free memory (4gb total). i cannot figure out why this is happening, there are no sleeping procs in MySQL and apache has MaxClients of 256. any sugges
ChrisalysRoobarb: i need to open port 443 for that right?
Roobarb-WorkChrisalys: yes
pctonymark123: you using cache?
mark123pctony: no idea whats cache?
pctonybasically, where apache loads the data into cache and serves it from there. until it expires
then it will reload it again when it does
mark123ah right, where is that configured?
this server has 6 x 10,000rpm scsi drives
that surely shouldn't be an issue?
pctonynot necessarily
mark123hrm. so where is the cache configured? and how can i test if that is actually the problem?
enzohumm DrBacchus i've put RewriteLogLevel 10, but i don't see any log in my access.log, where are the log of mod_rewrite ?
pctonymark123: in your httpd.conf
DrBacchusWhatever you set RewriteLog to.
ChrisalysRoobarb: it works, thanks1
pctonyor similar, dependantupon platform, distro etc
DrBacchusenzo: RewriteLot /path/to/rewrite.log
RewriteLog, rather
mark123pctony,
root@server01:/etc/apache2# grep -i cache apache2.conf httpd.conf
root@server01:/etc/apache2#
pctonymark123: you on debian?
enzoweird DrBacchus : i can see the log for a good url like www.myserver.com/foo/foo, but absolutely NO log for www.myserver.com/foo%2f/foo
mark123yea
unfortunately ;)
pctonyhaha
despise debian
fajitaWe don't despise it really. We'd just rather suck our thumbs all day and sing C&W!
mark123me too
enzoDrBacchus: seems that rewriting engine is not launched for url like foo%2ffoo, that's nonsense
pctonyfajita++
mark123it does suck bigtime
DrBacchusenzo: Fascinating.
