Jared555can you point windows apache's documentroot to a network drive without getting an error? every time I change documentroot, etc. apache starts crashing
DrBacchuslehox: Nope. I don't know that off the top of my head.
niq1.3?
fajita1.3 is the 1998 release of apache. Do you use Windows 98? Slackware 4 or Redhat 5?
pctonyJared555: pointing it to a mapped network drive is a mistake
that will cause more issues than it is worth
Jared555wasm
pctony?
Jared555wasn't planning on using it for a production system
pctonystill, it will add insyability
and I can vouch for the amount of crap it churns up
Jared555: if you change the docroot what happens to cause it to 'crash' ?
and what do you mean by 'crash' exactly?
Jared555when I hit start I get the "this program has had an error" thing from windows
daqqalcould someone show me the link for virtual hosting on apache2
Jared555mainly was just wondering if it was possible so I wouldn't have to copy files to two servers with every revision of code
pctonyJared555: when you move the docroot, you have to update the server config too
lehoxi found it in httpd.h
#define SERVER_BASEVENDOR "Apache Group"
#define SERVER_BASEPRODUCT "Apache"
#define SERVER_BASEREVISION "1.3.37"
#define SERVER_BASEVERSION SERVER_BASEPRODUCT "/" SERVER_BASEREVISION
Jared555I changed the two lines pointing to the normal htdocs folder
smharok... simply put, what is the rewrite rules that map [domain]/files to /sites/[domain]/files ?
pctonyand those two lines being which ones?
DrBacchuslehox: Presumably you're aware that changing that doesn't actually improve your security stance, right?
enzohi
pctonyhola enzo
enzoi have a slight problem with mod_rewrite, i have this: RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/(soap|addons)/.*
but this condition doesn't seem to work with: url www.foo.com/path%2fpath
but works with www.foo.com/path/path (%2f is the url encoded of /)
DrBacchusenzo: remove the /.* on the end. It's not necessary.
enzook DrBacchus
any idea for my problem ?
DrBacchusenzo: Yes. I just gave you the solution to your problem.
Jared555pctony, sorry for the delay, documentroot and the directory line
enzoi've corrected it DrBacchus but the problem is still there
DrBacchusThen I'd need to see RewriteLog entries to guess at what else is going on.
Jared555I may just try using a .bat script
pctonyJared555: to do what exactly?
