yangoand complicated
mod_authnz_external
fajitamod_authnz_external is http://unixpapa.com/mod_auth_external/ also see pwauth
yangoor, just mod_rewrite and a rewritemap which reads the group based on REMOTE_USER
but that is potentially a huge security hole
jeremy_gThanks yango
yep, it does seem to have a security hole
i ll use php sessions instead
with mysql db
brewokay so this is a lame question but, what's the best way to see if my apache server is up if it is refusing connections?
otaku42brew: maybe by running "ps ax" on the server? which only works if you have shell access to the server, of course.
brewoh yeah thanks.
Yeah it's on my box. I'm just hung over and rusty.
A great time to decide to get back into web programming.
otaku42brew: checking whether there is some process listening on port 80/tcp (or wherever you expect your webserver to listen on) via "netstat -anp" might be another option
brewthanks
fajitaNo worries
IkarusApache is ignoring:
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
Allow from 192.168.1.0/24
fajitaOrder deny, allow is The Deny directives are evaluated before the Allow directives. Access is allowed by default. Any client which does not match a Deny directive or does match an Allow directive will be allowed access to the server
Deny from all is don't let anyone see it. See also Order, Allow and Files
luckyb56anyone know how to compile apache 1.3.37 with apr and apr-util?
IkarusThey are simply set on a vhost
luckyb56when I opt for --with-apr it shows
+ using installation path layout: Apache (config.layout)
configure:Error: invalid option '--with-apr=/usr/local/apr/bin/apr-1-config'
Ikarusand other directives in it are working...
jMCgluckyb56: nonono..
luckyb56ah.. then?
jMCg--with-apr points to the basedir where apr is installed.
like.. /usr /usr/local /opt /foo/bar /dev/urandom /dev/zero etc...
luckyb56yes my apr is installed in /usr/local/apr
gidz/usr/local in this case maybe..
jMCgSo you go for /usr/local/apr -- but NOT for /usr/local/apr/bin/bam/bum wtf/ever
luckyb56hmm
jMCggidz: nope. If he ./configured apr with --prefix=/usr/local/apr then he has to tell httpd's ./configure --with-apr=/usr/local/apr
IkarusGah, go stupid me
luckyb56nopes same error
